The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
II Thessalonians 2:9-12 NKJV
We live in a world filled with voices. Everywhere we turn, someone is offering an opinion, a perspective, or a version of what they call โtruth.โ Social media, friends, trends, and culture constantly compete for our attention and influence. In such an environment, it becomes easy to confuse what feels right with what is actually right.
The Bible warns that deception will increase in the last days. What is striking is that deception does not always appear dark or dangerous. Often, it looks attractive, reasonable, and widely accepted. Paul explains that those who were misled were not necessarily unaware of the truth; rather, they โdid not receive the love of the truth.โ Truth was available, but it was not embraced.
There is a difference between hearing truth and loving truth. Truth can be uncomfortable because it corrects us, challenges our choices, and calls us to live differently. It confronts pride, exposes compromise, and invites transformation. Error, on the other hand, often feels easier. It soothes without correcting and permits without demanding change.
Jesus declared, โI am the way, the truth, and the life.โ Truth is not merely a concept or a set of rules; truth is found in Christ Himself. To walk with Him is to choose truth even when it is inconvenient or difficult. A lie does not become truth simply because it is popular, emotionally satisfying, or culturally celebrated. Feelings change, but Godโs Word remains constant.
In an age where right and wrong are frequently blurred, believers must remain grounded. This requires staying rooted in Scripture, seeking God in prayer, and cultivating discernment. Truth must not simply be tolerated; it must be cherished. When we love truth, it guards our hearts, shapes our decisions, and protects us from subtle deception.
May we be people who welcome Godโs truth, even when it stretches us, corrects us, and leads us beyond our comfort zones. For in loving truth, we remain anchored in Christ.
PRAYER POINTS
