Title: Little Foxes

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. (Song of Solomon 2:15 KJV)
On this Christian journey, there are many seemingly harmless actions, characters, and habits that have the capacity to truncate what we have with God. Many times, we focus on sin, but the enemy is experienced and can subtly introduce other unsuspecting vices to rob us of Godโs presence. We will be looking at a few of them and asking God to keep us standing in His unending grace.
1. Worry
This is the birthplace of anxiety and depression. No matter how much you worry, it does not solve the problem. It takes wisdom and divine intervention to come out of uncomfortable situations. However, when we worry constantly, we lose our trust in God, who alone is able to step in divinely and also give wisdom.
2. Careless talk
Every believer must pay careful attention to what comes out of our lips because we shall have whatsoever we say. A lot have aborted the testimonies of God over their lives through careless jokes and unwarranted utterances. When people ask you how you are, you respond with “not too bad” instead of just saying “I am doing fine”. Don’t ever laugh it off when a friend or colleague jokingly tells you that you will die before your time. Reject such a proclamation, and don’t let it slide.
3. Excessive Social media usage
As technology is advancing, it should never take the place of God in our hearts. Believers can now go all day scrolling on their phones and find it very hard to sit and read the bible for one hour or even pray for one hour. Social media has replaced their devotion time and sweet hour of prayer. If this is you, repent today and make amends.
4. Unforgiveness
Harbouring bitter sentiments is not compatible with the Spirit of God that we carry on the inside. Our Lord illustrated this by showing that worship and sacrifice are not acceptable if we do not forgive those who have wronged us. An unforgiving heart is a fertile ground for the enemy to sow the seed of revenge. That anger and fury that rises from your belly anytime you see the person or remember the incident is an indicator that Jesus wants you to forgive, carry your cross, and follow Him.
5. Complaining
When we complain about situations in and around our lives, we are pointing the finger at God, that He has not done enough. It is a sign of ingratitude because the situation could have been worse than that. This was what the children of Israel did in the wilderness that made God angry.
This list is inexhaustible because you still have things like pride, anger, rebellion, doubt, and so on. However, we are encouraged as believers not to have these things mentioned among us.
Prayer point:
Let us thank God for the word today. Let us ask for His divine power to keep us from falling so we can reign with Him in eternity.
