That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
(Ephesians 1:17 NKJV)

A child does not become mature simply by being born into a family. Growth requires nourishment, instruction, and experience. In the same way, becoming a Christian is only the beginning of our spiritual journey. God desires every believer to grow in the knowledge of Him so that we may become spiritually mature and firmly established in the faith (2 Pet. 3:18).

One remarkable truth throughout the New Testament is that our Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles continually prayed that believers would know God more deeply. Paul prayed that the Church would receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God and be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Eph. 1:17–18; Col. 1:9–10). This teaches us that spiritual knowledge is not optional but essential for every believer who desires to grow in Christ

Many Christians diligently pursue success, possessions, and earthly achievements, yet neglect the knowledge of God’s Word. The Scriptures warn us that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hos. 4:6). Ignorance leaves believers vulnerable to deception, spiritual immaturity, and ineffective Christian living. However, as we continue in God’s Word, we come to know the truth, and the truth sets us free (Jn. 8:31–32).

God has also given us the Holy Spirit to teach, guide, and reveal His truth to us (1 Cor. 2:12; Jn. 16:13). As we faithfully study the Scriptures, spend time in prayer, and obey what we learn, we are transformed into the likeness of Christ and equipped to discern truth from error (Rom. 12:2; Jas. 1:22). In these last days, when false teachings are increasing, every believer must be rooted and grounded in the Word of God (Matt. 24:4; Eph. 4:14).

Beloved in the Lord, let us never be content with simply knowing about God. Let us pursue an intimate relationship with Him through His Word and by the power of the Holy Spirit. As we grow in the knowledge of Christ, our faith will become stronger, our lives will bear lasting fruit, and we will be equipped to stand firm until the day of His glorious return (Col. 1:10; Phil. 1:9–11).

Prayer Point:

Let us thank God for revealing Himself to us through His Son and His holy Word. Let us ask Him to fill us with the spirit of wisdom and revelation and help us grow daily in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ until we attain spiritual maturity.

God bless you all.
