Persistence

CALL TO PRAYER

Title: Persistence

By: Daniel Peter

Date: 03.08.2026

“…eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honour, and immortality.”
Romans 2:7 (NKJV)

The Christian life is not a sprint but a marathon. God does not only reward those who begin well; He rewards those who continue faithfully. Persistence is the steadfast commitment to obey God, even when prayers seem unanswered, trials are prolonged, and results are not immediately visible.

Romans 2:7 reminds us that eternal life is promised to those who persevere in doing good. The phrase “patient continuance” speaks of unwavering endurance—a heart that refuses to give up despite opposition, discouragement, or delay. Many believers start with great zeal but lose strength when difficulties arise. Yet God calls us to remain faithful, trusting that every act of obedience is seen by Him.

Persistence is evidence of genuine faith. Noah persisted in building the ark before seeing rain. Abraham persisted in believing God’s promise despite years of waiting. The early Church persisted in prayer until the Holy Spirit was poured out. Their victories came because they refused to abandon God’s word.

If you have been praying for your family, your ministry, your health, or your calling, do not give up. God’s delays are not His denials. Continue to seek Him, continue to serve Him, and continue to walk in righteousness. In due season, you will reap if you do not lose heart.

Prayer:

Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let’s ask Him to help us be persistent in doing good, so we can have the reward.
