Title: Fulfilling Purpose

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10 NLT

When God created mankind, He had a specific assignment for them. For Adam, among other things, he was to tend the garden, Eden. There is a garden for every believer to tend, an assignment for us to fulfil. We are tending our garden when we are fulfilling our purpose.

The true measure of success in a man’s life is determined by the extent to which he has fulfilled those things written about him by God (God’s plans and purpose for Him). The enemy knows this, and His strategy against man is to distract him. The enemy doesn’t necessarily use evil things to tempt man, but the good things of life. To overcome the devil’s deception, we may have to constantly discern between the good things and the will of God. Therefore, there is a need for us to always know the will of God so that we will not be distracted from our purpose.

How do we know the will of God? Paul admonished the Christians in Ephesians ‘not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is (Eph. 5:17)’. By Paul’s speech, we can see that the will of God is understood. i.e, we need understanding to consistently walk in the will of God.

How do we gain understanding? We do so by constantly filling ourselves with the Word of God and by asking God in prayer.

Prayer Point:

Let’s ask God to give the entire body of Christ an unquenchable passion for His Word and that He should enlighten the eyes of our understanding.
