I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.โ€
(Galatians 2:20 NKJV)

A man once purchased a house at a very high price. From the moment the payment was made, the former owner no longer had any legal claim to it. The ownership had completely changed. In the same way, when Christ redeemed us, He did not simply improve our lives โ€” He purchased us with His precious blood (1 Cor 6:20). We no longer belong to ourselves. That truth challenges us to examine whether we are truly living surrendered lives.

When the Apostle Paul declared, โ€œI have been crucified with Christ,โ€ he was speaking of a spiritual reality. His old life โ€” driven by pride, self-righteousness, and personal ambition โ€” had been put to death (Rom 6:6). Christianity is not merely turning over a new leaf; it is dying to the old self. Jesus taught that anyone who desires to follow Him must deny himself and take up his cross daily (Luke 9:23). The cross is not just a symbol of salvation; it is a call to surrender.

The scripture continues, โ€œIt is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.โ€ What a profound mystery! The believerโ€™s life is now governed by Christ dwelling within (Col 1:27). Our strength is no longer rooted in human ability, but in divine empowerment (Phil 2:13). When Christ lives in us, our character reflects Him, our decisions honor Him, and our priorities align with His will. A surrendered life becomes a powerful testimony to the transforming work of God.

โ€œThe life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith.โ€ Though we still walk in this physical world, our daily existence must be shaped by trust in God (2 Cor 5:7). Faith sustains us in trials, guides us in uncertainty, and anchors us in hope. It reminds us that our lives are secure in the hands of the One who loved us and gave Himself for us (Rom 5:8).

This message calls us to deep reflection. Are there areas of our lives where self still reigns? Have we fully yielded our plans, ambitions, and desires to Christ? To say that we are crucified with Christ means that our lives are no longer driven by personal glory, but by His purpose. When Christ truly lives in us, others will see His light through us (Matt 5:16).

Beloved in the Lord, let us recommit ourselves to living a life that is no longer our own. May our thoughts, words, and actions reveal that we belong completely to Him.

Prayer Point:

Let us thank God for the gift of salvation and the privilege of belonging to Christ. Let us ask Him to help us die to self daily, to strengthen our faith, and to allow Christ to live fully in and through us.

God bless you all!
