Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  Proverbs 3:5–6

Put Jesus at the centre of your life, because at the end of the day, He is all that truly matters. When your life is in God’s hands, you are in the safest place you can ever be. Human strength can fail, wisdom can fail, but God never fails.

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” — Psalm 118:8

Some time ago, my husband and I were on a journey, sitting in the front seat of the vehicle. After we had travelled for a while, I noticed that the driver was dozing off while driving. It was a frightening moment because our safety was in his hands. I quickly informed my husband, and he suggested that the driver should stop and rest. The driver agreed, but he did not stop immediately and continued driving while still struggling to stay awake.

By God’s grace, we finally arrived safely at our destination and got down from the vehicle. That experience made me realise something very important: if a driver you trust with your life can become weak and fall asleep, this shows that humans can fail you. This is why our lives should never be placed completely in the hands of men, but in the hands of God.

The Bible reminds us that man is limited, but God is never tired, never weak, and never distracted.

“Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” — Psalm 121:4

When God is the one leading your life, you can rest in confidence, because He sees the end from the beginning. He knows the right road, the right timing, and the safe destination.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” — Psalm 37:23

If we truly believe in Him and allow Him to lead us, He will guide us safely through every journey of life.

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” — Psalm 37:5

Who is truly in control of my life — God, or my own understanding?

• Let’s thank God for his word
• Let’s ask the lord to help us to put him at the centre of our lives. Let’s ask God to teach us to trust him completely and not depend on human strength.
