For we walk by faith, not by sight. II Corinthians 5:7 NKJV

There are moments in life when faith doesnโ€™t feel easy. You pray, but answers seem delayed. You believe, yet circumstances look unchanged. In those seasons, it can feel like your faith is weakโ€”but the truth is, difficult seasons donโ€™t destroy faith; they often reveal and strengthen it.

The Bible reminds us, โ€œFor we walk by faith, not by sightโ€ (2 Corinthians 5:7). Faith is not about what you see or feelโ€”it is about trusting God even when things donโ€™t make sense. Anyone can believe when everything is going well, but real faith grows when life is uncertain.

Consider the story of Abraham. God promised him a son, yet years passed without fulfilment (Genesis 12โ€“21). At times, the promise seemed impossible, but โ€œhe did not waver at the promise of God through unbeliefโ€ (Romans 4:20). His faith was tested in the waiting, and through that process, it became stronger.

Even Peter experienced a moment where faith felt difficult. When he stepped out of the boat to walk on water, he was doing well until he focused on the wind and waves (Matthew 14:28โ€“31). The moment he shifted his focus from Jesus to the storm, fear took over. This shows us that faith struggles often come when we focus more on our problems than on God.

In challenging seasons, God invites us to hold on, not give up. โ€œLet us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heartโ€ (Galatians 6:9). Your โ€œdue seasonโ€ will come, but faith must remain steady through the process.

As we continue our journey and await the return of Jesus Christ, difficult moments should draw us closer to Him, not push us away. Faith is not proven in comfort but in perseverance.

So when faith feels difficult, donโ€™t quit. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep moving forward. God is still workingโ€”even when you cannot see it.

Prayer Points

  • Let’s thank God for His word.
  • Let’s ask the lord to help us trust in Him even when faith feels difficult.
  • Let’s ask God to strengthen our hearts and increase our faith.
  • Let’s ask God to help us to hold on to His promises no matter what we face. Amen!
