But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.ย (James 3:17 NKJV)
A traveler approaching a crossroads must choose which path to follow. One road may appear attractive and easy yet lead to danger and destruction. Another may require wisdom and careful guidance yet lead safely to the desired destination. In much the same way, every believer faces a choice between following the wisdom of this world and embracing the wisdom that comes from God.
The word of God makes us understand that not all wisdom comes from the same source (Js 3:15). There is a worldly wisdom and one that comes from above. Worldly wisdom is often driven by selfish ambition, pride, and envy. Such wisdom produces confusion, division, and ungodly behavior. In contrast, the wisdom that comes from God is pure, peaceable, gentle, merciful, and sincere. It promotes unity, righteousness, and godly living.
True wisdom is not measured by intelligence, education, or position. According to Scripture, wisdom is revealed through godly character and conduct (Js 3:17). A wise believer reflects the nature of Christ through humility, kindness, mercy, and integrity. Our words, decisions, and relationships should demonstrate the wisdom that comes from above.
In a world filled with conflict, pride, and self-interest, God calls His people to be instruments of peace and examples of Christlike character. As we seek God daily through prayer and His Word, the Holy Spirit will guide us to walk in heavenly wisdom and bear good fruit for His glory (Gal 5:22).
Beloved in the Lord, let us reject the wisdom of the world that exalts self and embrace the wisdom of God that produces righteousness, peace, and godly fruit. May our lives reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to His Name.
Prayer Point:
Let us thank God for the gift of His wisdom. Let us ask Him to fill our hearts with wisdom from above, enabling us to live in purity, peace, humility, mercy, and sincerity so that our lives may glorify His Name.
God bless you all.
