Topic: Overcome Evil with Good

“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” — Romans 12:21 KJV
We live in a world where wickedness is increasingly becoming a culture. Manipulation, dishonesty, immorality, betrayal, and pulling others down can become so common that people begin to see them as normal.
Even righteousness can become a matter of appearance—looking good before people while secretly harbouring evil within. Many are no longer striving to please God; they are striving to protect an image while their hearts remain far from Him.
Jesus warned us:
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
— Matthew 24:12–13 KJV
The wickedness around us may tempt us to stop loving, trusting, forgiving, and doing good. But as Christians, we must not allow the culture around us to determine the condition of our hearts.
We are called to be different. We do not overcome evil by becoming evil. We overcome evil with good.
When we respond to hatred with love, manipulation with truth, revenge with forgiveness, and wickedness with righteousness, we introduce the light of Christ into a dark culture.
Our love may become the instrument God uses to soften a hardened heart. Our righteousness may expose what darkness has normalized. Our goodness may show someone a better way.
Do not let the wickedness around you make you wicked. Keep loving, keep doing good, keep walking in righteousness. And your light will drive out the darkness in the world
Prayer Points
Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let’s ask Him to help us bring change to a dark world and not be overcome by the darkness in the world.
