Title: Spiritual Nourishment

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby
(1 Peter 2:1-2 NKJV)

A healthy newborn baby naturally craves milk because it is essential for growth and strength. Without proper nourishment, the child cannot develop as intended. In the same way, every believer should earnestly desire the pure Word of God, for it is through His Word that we grow spiritually and become mature in our walk with Christ (2 Tim. 3:16–17).

It is important for all believers to lay aside attitudes and behaviours that hinder spiritual growth. Malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and evil speaking have no place in the life of one who has been born again (Eph. 4:31–32). Just as a gardener removes weeds so that healthy plants may flourish, we must allow the Holy Spirit to remove every sinful attitude that prevents us from growing into the likeness of Christ (Col. 3:8–10).

Spiritual maturity does not happen automatically after salvation. Just as our physical bodies require daily nourishment, our souls require the daily intake of God’s Word. The Scriptures strengthen our faith, renew our minds, equip us for every good work, and help us discern truth from error (Rom. 10:17; Heb. 5:12–14). A believer who neglects God’s Word will remain spiritually weak and vulnerable to deception, but one who delights in God’s Word will be firmly rooted and fruitful (Ps. 1:2–3).

In these last days, when many false teachings and worldly influences seek to draw believers away from the truth, we must remain grounded in the Scriptures (Matt. 24:24; 2 Tim. 4:3–4). Let us not be satisfied with occasional reading of God’s Word, but let us hunger and thirst for His truth each day. As we meditate upon His Word and obey its teachings, the Holy Spirit transforms us into the image of Christ (Josh. 1:8; Jas. 1:22).

Beloved in the Lord, may we never lose our appetite for the Word of God. Let us continually desire the sincere milk of His Word, knowing that through it we are strengthened, equipped, and prepared to live lives that glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer Point:

Let us thank God for the gift of His holy Word. Let us ask Him to give us a deeper hunger for the Scriptures, help us put away every sinful attitude that hinders our growth, and strengthen us through His Holy Spirit to grow into spiritual maturity and faithful obedience.

God bless you all.
