CALL TO PRAYER

Title: Volumes

“Then I said, ‘Behold, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do Your will, O God.’”
Hebrews 10:7 (NKJV)

Many believers engage in spiritual disciplines, yet often wonder why they see little transformation. The issue is not always whether we pray, fast, give, or study God’s Word, but the volume we invest in these practices. In Scripture, God consistently honours sacrifice, persistence, and wholehearted devotion rather than occasional acts of convenience.

A few minutes of prayer may sustain fellowship with God, but extended seasons of prayer shape spiritual authority and maturity. A single meal skipped may express self-denial, but sustained fasting weakens the grip of the flesh. A token gift may be generous by human standards, but sacrificial giving reveals a heart completely yielded to God. Reading a verse occasionally is beneficial, but dwelling richly in the Scriptures renews the mind and transforms the believer.

Kingdom practices produce results according to the measure of investment. Just as an athlete develops strength through repeated training, believers grow in grace through consistent and increasing spiritual exercise. The more these disciplines become a lifestyle rather than an event, the deeper their impact on our lives.

This is why the great men and women God used throughout Scripture were people of extraordinary devotion. They gave themselves to prayer, to the Word, to fasting, and to obedience in remarkable measure. Their effectiveness was not accidental; it was forged in the place of sustained consecration.

God is not looking for empty religious activity, but He does delight in whole-hearted devotion. True sacrifice is felt. It stretches our comfort, challenges our schedules, and demands our priorities. It is often at the point where spiritual disciplines become costly that they become most transformative.

Today, ask yourself: What is the volume of my devotion? Is your walk with God built on convenience or on consecration? Increase the volume. Spend more time in His presence. Meditate more deeply on His Word. Pray longer. Fast with purpose. Give generously. As your investment increases, so will your capacity, maturity, and usefulness in the Kingdom.

Prayer Points

Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let’s ask Him to deliver us from a life of convenient devotion and grant us grace to increase the volume of our prayer, fasting, study of His Word, giving, and every expression of obedience. Let’s ask Him to let our walk with Him move beyond routine into sacrificial consecration and make us a vessel of greater capacity and greater usefulness for His Kingdom. In Jesus’ name.
