Kindness is one of the simplest expressions of God’s love, yet it is also one of the most powerful forces that can change a person’s life. In Exodus 2, we see the story of Moses, a man who had ran away from Egypt with nothing and no place to stay. He was tired, rejected, and uncertain about his future. When he arrived in Midian, he defended the daughters of Jethro from some abusive shepherds. Moses showed kindness even though he was carrying his own burdens.
He didn’t know that singular action would open the door to a new season in his life. A simple act of kindness became the bridge to God’s provision and purpose. In life, we are often taught to look after ourselves first, but the Bible reminds us to sow seeds of kindness everywhere we go, just like our Lord Jesus (Acts 10:38). Moses had every reason to ignore those women at the well, but he chose compassion over convenience.
If we think about our day-to-day routine. A kind word to a discouraged colleague, patience with your spouse or children, checking on an elderly neighbour, forgiving someone who offended you, or helping a stranger without expecting anything in return may seem insignificant. However, God often uses these small moments to accomplish extraordinary purposes. The seeds of kindness you sow today may become the harvest of favour tomorrow.
Kindness also reflects the heart of Christ. Jesus constantly noticed the overlooked, touched the untouchable, and loved the undeserving. As His followers, we are called to do the same. In a world where people are quick to judge and slow to care, believers should stand out as carriers of God’s compassion.
As you step into today, ask the Holy Spirit to make you sensitive to opportunities to show kindness. Your act of kindness may be the answer to someone’s prayer, and God may use it to position you for unexpected blessings. Never underestimate the power of a compassionate heart because God knows how to reward.

Let’s thank God for His word today. Father, make me an instrument of Your love today.
Let my life reflect the compassion of Christ, and may every seed of kindness I sow bring glory to Your name.
