Title: Full of Wisdom

“Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.” – Acts 6:3
It was said of several people in the Scriptures that they were “full of wisdom” or had “great wisdom.”
It is obvious that wisdom is essential to our existence and is an innate desire of man. Eve ate the fruit because it was said to make one wise.
Daniel was said to have “the wisdom of the gods.” Ahithophel was known as a counsellor whose advice was like hearing from God. Moses was mighty in words and deeds.
Wisdom is a divine attribute, necessary for our minds. It was said that Jesus grew in wisdom Luke 2:52, and John testified that Jesus was “full of grace and truth” John 1:14.
Interestingly, those who were said to have great wisdom functioned with almost godlike influence.
Moses stood before Pharaoh. Solomon was wiser than all the kings of his time. Jesus Himself said, “One greater than Solomon is here” Matthew 12:42, and He was later crowned King of the Jews. Stephen was “full of wisdom and the Spirit,” and as he spoke, his face was like the face of an angel Acts 6:3, 10, 15.
We have an assignment: to obtain the kind of wisdom that enables us to rule effectively on earth. God has promised: “If any lacks wisdom, let him ask, and He will give liberally.” James 1:5
But men only increase in wisdom when they apply themselves to it through silence, service, and study.

- Let us pray that we may be full of His wisdom Colossians 1:9
- Let us pray that His Spirit would teach us all things John 14:26
