But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

(2 Peter 3:18 NKJV)

A gardener once planted two seeds in different pots. One received regular watering, sunlight, and proper care, while the other was neglected. After some time, one grew into a healthy plant, while the other remained weak. In the same way, our spiritual growth depends on how we nurture our relationship with God.

Growing in grace means continually becoming more like Christ in our character, conduct, and understanding of His Word. Grace is God’s undeserved favour toward us, through which we are saved, strengthened, and enabled to live for Him. We are saved by grace through faith, not by our works. (Eph. 2:8–9) However, the grace that saves us also teaches us to reject ungodliness and live righteous lives. (Titus 2:11–12)

Growing in grace does not mean that we earn God’s love by our efforts, but that we mature in our walk with Him and allow the Holy Spirit to transform us into the image of Christ. (2 Cor. 3:18)

How, then, can we grow in grace?

First, we must feed on the Word of God. Just as physical food strengthens the body, God’s Word nourishes our spiritual lives and helps us mature in faith. (1 Pet. 2:2)

Second, we must maintain a consistent prayer life. Through prayer, we draw near to God, receive strength in our weaknesses, and find grace to help us in times of need. (Heb. 4:16)

Third, we must obey God’s Word and yield to the Holy Spirit. Spiritual maturity is demonstrated not merely by what we know, but by how we live. As we walk in the Spirit, His fruit becomes evident in our lives. (Gal. 5:22–23)

Beloved in the Lord, let us not remain spiritually immature when God has called us to grow. Our goal is not to compare ourselves with others, but to become more like Jesus every day. Let us continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, bringing glory to His name in everything we do.

Prayer Point:

Let us thank God for His Grace. Let’s ask the Lord help us grow in grace and become more like Christ every day.

God Bless You
