Title: He Will Always Be There

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:20 KJV
One of the painful realities of life is that people may leave us when we need them the most. Men may promise to stand with us, but circumstances can reveal that their commitment has limits. However, there is One whose presence is not determined by circumstances: God will always be there.
Jesus experienced the pain of being abandoned by those closest to Him. When His arrest was approaching, He told His disciples that they would be scattered and leave Him. Yet He declared, “And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me” (John 16:32). Peter even denied Him, just as Jesus had said. Those who had eaten with Him, walked with Him and witnessed His ministry could not remain with Him in His darkest hour.
I have experienced something similar. There was a season when friends I had eaten with, prayed with, and shared dreams of a better future with turned their backs on me during my trials. Some even denied ever being my friends. It was painful, but God used that season to teach me something deeper. While people may leave, God will always be here. He comforted me and gave me understanding of why He had allowed the trials, while also revealing the glorious future ahead.
God said concerning Adam, “It is not good that the man should be alone” (Genesis 2:18). God created us for fellowship, but even when human companionship fails, the believer is never truly alone. Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit, “that he may abide with you for ever” (John 14:16).
Therefore, do not fear when people depart from you. You have a Friend who is closer than a brother. The Holy Spirit is with you, and He will never leave you.
People may abandon you, but God will remain. People may deny you, but God knows you. People may walk away from your present, but God is already waiting for you in your future.
Fear not. He will always be there.
