Title: Take Heed How You Build

According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. (1 Corinthians 3:10 NKJV)
Imagine a man who spends years building a beautiful house, only to discover at the end that the materials he used could not withstand the test. The appearance may have looked impressive, but when the building was tested, its true quality was revealed.
The truth is that Jesus Christ is the only true foundation, and every believer is building something upon that foundation (1 Cor. 3:11). The question is therefore not only whether we are building, but how we are building. We can be busy in church, preaching, serving, giving, singing, evangelising, and doing many good things, yet God is concerned about the quality and motive behind our works. Are we building with faithfulness, obedience, holiness, love, and truth?
The above Scripture ended with: “But let each one take heed how he builds on it” (1 Cor. 3:10). This is a serious warning because Jesus is coming again, and there will be a day when our works will be examined. Beloved, the coming of Christ should make us examine how we are living and serving Him (1 Cor. 3:14).
This reminds us that salvation is by grace through faith, but our works as believers will still be evaluated and rewarded by the Lord. Jesus said, “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works” (Matt. 16:27). Therefore, let us not build our lives around the things that are temporary. Let us build with the Word of God, obedience, prayer, holiness, love, evangelism, and faithful service.
Beloved in the Lord, Jesus is coming soon. Let us therefore take heed how we build. May we not only begin well, but also finish well, so that when our works are tested, they will bring glory to Christ, and we will receive the reward He has prepared for those who faithfully serve Him.
Prayer Point:
Let’s thank God for His Word today. Let us pray and ask God to help us build our lives and our service upon Christ with the right motives, faithfulness, holiness, and obedience.
God bless you all.
