Call To Prayer
Title: The Power of Decisions

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV)
Empires and Nations were born in time past because of the decision of a select few on what lands to conquer and which people or tribes to make alliance with. There are nations at war with each other today because some colonizers miles away drew partition lines to separate them into territories without considering the cultural heritage of the people and their way of life. The decisions we make today has the power to shape generations yet unborn.
When Adam and Eve made a decision to eat of the forbidden fruit in the garden and fell from grace, we their offsprings were automatically implicated by their actions even though it was not our personal fault. That was why God in His love and mercy made a decision to redeem mankind to Himself by sending our Lord Jesus to die for our sins.
The Holy Spirit is the custodian of wisdom and excellence, and he guides us in making quality decisions that eliminate error, confusion, and unnecessary regrets. Every day of our lives is shaped by the choices we make. Whether in our relationships, careers, finances, ministry, or spiritual walk, our decisions determine the direction and quality of our future.
When Daniel decided not to defile himself with the king’s delicacies, that decision distinguished him for divine favour and promotion. Ruth also decided to follow Naomi and the God of Israel, and her decision positioned her in the lineage of Jesus Christ. Likewise, every godly decision we make today has the potential to impact generations yet to come positively.
As believers, we must seek God’s counsel before making important decisions. Prayer, the study of God’s Word, and sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit help us avoid costly mistakes. A single decision made in obedience to God can unlock doors of blessing, purpose, and fulfilment.
In conclusion, we are admonished to choose life over death. Choose obedience. Choose faith over fear, righteousness over compromise, and God’s will over personal convenience. The power of your decisions has the capacity to shape not only your future but also the future of those connected to you.

Let’s thank God for His word today.
Let us ask the Lord to grant us the wisdom to make decisions that align with His will and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in all we do.
